Ordering Rules for Solid Wood Moulding
Specified Length Moulding Orders:
There is a 15% upcharge for specified lengths.
Lengths that may be specified: 8’, 10’, 12’, 14’, 16’.
Actual lengths may be up to 6” shorter than specified lengths. If this will cause a problem for the application, it is recommended to move up to the next longest length.
Items that total 200’ or more may have up to 30% cutbacks that could be up to 1’ shorter than the specified length.
Lineal Moulding Orders:
Lengths may be requested, but order can contain pieces 7’ and longer.
Finished orders will be run at 10% over the requested footage up to 100'. This is to cover any end checks or length defected after machining.
Orders over 200’ will not be defected for knots, end check, kiln check, or wane unless specified (may be an upcharge).
Gluing Guidelines
Orders can be specified as no gluing allowed, but there will be a 15% upcharge.
Edge gluing is acceptable in any width on a paint grade moulding and widths greater than 5” on a stain grade moulding.
A maximum of 1 glue line is acceptable on boards up to 7” wide and 2 glue lines on boards up to 10” wide.
No strip within the glued-up board will be less than 1-1/2”.
All strips within the board will be color-matched as best as possible.
